Consumer Education Resources
Pennsylvania’s dairy industry is vital to the commonwealth’s economy, environment and its local communities. Yet, the average consumer – our non-farm neighbors – knows very little about dairy farming and the value it provides. The Pennsylvania Dairy Task Force and Center for Dairy Excellence have developed a variety resources to educate local consumers about the value of the dairy industry. To help you reach your non-farm neighbors, we offer the following materials free of charge:
The Treasure brochure was created in 2011 to educate community leaders, non-farm neighbors and other consumers about the many contributions dairy farm families bring to their communities, the economy, the environment and to providing healthy products. Click here to order.
"What Dairy Farmers Bring to PA" PowerPoint can be downloaded to showcase the value and opportunity dairy brings to a local community and to the commonwealth. It features charts demonstrating dairy’s value and photos of PA farm families. Click here to download.
A Farm Tour Planning Guide, activities and other resources to reach elementary aged students are available in the Discover Dairy Farmer Toolkit. To order the Discover Dairy Farmer Toolkit, click here. Additional resources can be found on the Discover Dairy Farmer Page.
For those farm families wanting to have personalized information, the center does offer resources to help farms develop a tailored farm brochure. If you are interested in these resources, contact Jayne Sebright at 717-346-0849 or info@centerfordairyexcellence.org.
A variety of promotional materials can also be ordered through the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association at www.dairyspot.org. These materials are made available through the Dairy Checkoff program and are often free to dairy farm families.
